Spot the Best Store Displays
完成条件
In this activity, you’ll explore how shops use Visual Merchandising (VM) to create eye-catching displays. You’ll choose a physical store window or entrance that you think works well, and analyse how it attracts customers using VM principles like colour, layout, and storytelling.
Task Instructions
1. Choose a display
- Pick a shop window or entrance that grabs your attention. It can be from a high street, shopping centre, independent store, or anywhere you find inspiring.
2. Observe how it’s designed
Look closely and consider:
- Colour use - is it bold, minimal, themed?
- Balance and layout - how are items grouped or spaced?
- Storytelling - does the display suggest a mood, season, or theme?
- Focal points - what’s the first thing your eye is drawn to?
3. Present your analysis
- Include 1-5 clear photos of the display
- Write 150-250 words explaining what makes it effective
- Optional: Add arrows, notes, or sketches to highlight key features
Add to your Portfolio
1. Your photos or sketches of the shop display
2. Your written analysis of why the display works
Note: Your first portfolio review takes place after Lesson 3.
